"Let Me In" is an interactive web-based queer Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) piece using acoustic close-ups to show how the sum of the parts of a queer body, visible and audible, is read subconsciously in order for a perception of queerness or gender to be made.

Experience "Let Me In" at DigitalCarnival.ca from April 21 - June 5, 2021. To receive program updates via email, sign up for our newsletter at http://ow.ly/GESp50DRE5B (link in Instagram bio).

Meet Digital Carnival Z Artist—Juli Saragosa. H Meet Digital Carnival Z Artist—Juli Saragosa.

Having grown up in an immigrant family with positive encouragement to try everything and with the economic necessity to use whatever is at hand (including a home photography darkroom), Juli was determined to become an artist from an early age. Moving-images became a suitable passion for this eternally curious DIY experimenter.

Juli Saragosa is a transnational interdisciplinary artist and sound designer who enjoys collaboration and interdisciplinary practice. She has extended her practice to include the curatorial and educational as a grassroots organizer, curator and workshop leader, as a film and media arts instructor, and as an active community organizer, mentor, workshop leader.

Juli's interactive queer ASMR piece, "Let Me In", will be exhibited online at Digital Carnival Z. Stay tuned for more details.

"WEIRD SENSATION FEELS GOOD." One of the internet' "WEIRD SENSATION FEELS GOOD." One of the internet's largest creative movements, according to ArkDes, ASMR is a feeling of euphoria or deep calm, sometimes accompanied by a tingling sensation in the body. These sensations can be brought on by a variety of audio and visual triggers.

Through interactive web-based ASMR, Juli Saragosa's "Let Me In" explores how the digitization of human connection, mediated through mouse clicks and the touch of fingertips, and how the audio of calming sensual whispers can bring us (queer bodies) a sense of interconnection in an ever more isolating world.

"Let Me In" by Juli Saragosa is coming soon at Digital Carnival Z.

Meanwhile, you can check out the first museum exhibition dedicated to ASMR here: http://ow.ly/m32Q50EhOWO

We are beyond excited to present Mickey L.D. Morga We are beyond excited to present Mickey L.D. Morgan's interactive poem, "Negev Varod/Seeing Pink"!

In the visual-scroll-format and audio-collage thought-stream poem, "Negev Varod/Seeing Pink", Mickey @mickeym00rgan interrogates the act of propagandizing 2GLBTQ+ acceptance to obscure systematic violence, so-called pink-washing, using colours and rhetoric. Through the practice of the oral-written paired tradition of Judaism, Mickey invites audiences to experience their journey by sharing their understanding of the constructs in a cis-hetero-colonial-patriarchy society.

Experience "Negev Varod/Seeing Pink" at DigitalCarnival.ca starting from April 21 - June 5, 2021. To receive program updates via email, sign up for our newsletter at http://ow.ly/GESp50DRE5B (link in Instagram bio).
