Explore the lives and stories of the Chinese Canadian women who helped shape Vancouver’s Chinatown through the Suzhou Alley Women’s Mural Educational Toolkit.
A FREE online resource for all teachers, educators, and community facilitators, the Educational Toolkit is geared towards learners grades 9 to 12 and includes four lessons designed to supplement and complement the BC Social Studies Curriculum.
All lessons include a guiding question, description of teacher-led activities, options for culminating activities, student handouts, and additional links and resources for further study. Explore and download the Educational Toolkit on the mural website at https://suzhoualleymural.ca/educational-toolkit/.
This educational toolkit was created by Vancouver-based educators and designers: April Liu, Dominique Bautista, Elaine Su, Kelsey Lee, Romy Cooper and Emily Cheung. The website was designed and partially sponsored by Thompson Stenning.
Thank you to the BC Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts for their generous support of this project.
